Gabby, enjoying a slice of the Apple-Bacon Galette...bacon pieces with maple glaze... already eaten! |
Breakfast is so complete with a side of couple slices of bacon...crispy, crunchy and beautiful bacon!
What is there not to like about American Bacon? ...is it because it's 'pork'...or is it because it's fatty?...actually when you fry or bake it real crispy, you release all the fat grease and that's when you enjoy the best part about the yummy crispy bacon.
Of course, you cansubstitute turkey bacon, which is less calories and fat and you get to enjoy all the benefits of bacon inspired creations.
If you love bacon, I really suggest you check out the March issue of Food Network magazine...it's all about BACON; which is the Bacon Issue!
For the recipe, which the only adaptation I made was...I sprinkled Turbinado sugar on top of the galette, before I baked it! Click here, to get the recipe>>APPLE-BACON GALETTE

Hi Mari, it's so nice to hear from you! Thanks for your sweet comment.
DeleteHugs, and blessing to you and your family, as well
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty. I like uncured bacon because it's less salty tasting. And I love how bacon can be eaten so many ways, and still taste killer good.
ReplyDeleteI know how hard it is to skip bacon in your diet as I don't take much processed food these day, it just add so much flavour into food. So I do enjoy a bit of bacon in the pasta or serve my kids with bacon & egg. Apple and bacon, the two best thing in the world should be the champion for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteHi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI'm a subscriber for the Food network magazine too... Imagine these US magazines flying all the way to my home at Australia... I like the bacon issue but decided to discontinue my subscription because I think the magazine is interesting but didn't provide the kind of recipes that I always want... hmmm
Apple + Bacon !!! This sweet salty combination sounds really good... Your galette looks yummy!
Turkey bacon???? Yucks! Although I'm a health freak, I can't accept bacon not being the real bacon :p
Zoe
Yum! I'm a bacon lover too. This looks like breakfast to me. :)
ReplyDeletelooks super yummy..so perfectly baked..
ReplyDeleteHi Elisabeth! I LOVE bacon hah..hah...because it simply tastes so good! I bet your apple bacon galettes were finished in no time. I like it that you sprinkled sugar on top for the crunch and sweetness. The sweet and salty combination is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHi Elisabeth, oh no, apple bacon galettes, this is so good and delish! Great for breakfast and tea time too. How I wished to have a bite right now! Thanks for sharing and best regards, Elisabeth :)
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of apple and bacon in this rustic yet glorious pastry. Well done, Elisabeth.
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual dish! I have never heard about it and it sounds very exotic with the combination of bacon and apples... I must try it one day!
ReplyDeleteI am also a bacon addict... My way to make sure I don't overindulge: I buy my favourite, super-free-range expensive smoked & dried bacon brand, cut into almost transparent thin slices...
Sissi, that is how most of our American bacon comes...sliced super thin, to assure of perfectly crunchy, fried...or even baked pieces to enjoy so many ways accompanied in other dishes, and not just with eggs for breakfast!
DeleteNow that looks just so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Elisabeth, this is so irresistible, so finger-licking good!!!! Very good presentation! Have a great day, XOXO
ReplyDeleteno.. please don't cut down on the bacon... moderation including moderation itself I say :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be able to resist that gorgeous galette. It looks so inviting.
The idea of bacon and apple sounds amazing...sweet and salty...I would love to try this out...yum!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration Elisabeth...hope you are having a lovely week :D
This is something i would love to give a try definitely, bacon and apple thats something unique.
ReplyDeleteElisabeth this sounds wonderful! I would have never thought of this combination in a million years, even though I love apples with pork. I agree with you, we have gone overboard with not eating certain things. I will moderate the amount but I will not compromise on the flavor. I think turkey bacon is for the birds hehe.
ReplyDeleteHi Darling,
ReplyDeletehow are you?I hope well..:-)
